Dr. Tara Kartha is the former Director of National Security Council Secretariat, Government of India. She currently serves as Director (Research & Analysis) at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), where she leads work on regional security, terrorism, and great power dynamics, while building institutional outreach and partnerships. Previously, she was the Senior Jennings Randolph Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace, Washington D.C. During her tenure of 5 National Security Advisors, her focus was primarily on Afghanistan and Pakistan, terrorism in the neighbourhood, and a watching brief on the outflow of this on radicalisation within India.
