Dr. Manpreet Sethi

Dr. Manpreet Sethi is a Distinguished Fellow at the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS), New Delhi, where she has led the project on nuclear security for over two decades. She is also Senior Research Advisor at the Asia Pacific Leadership Network (APLN). Her research focuses on nuclear strategy, nuclear energy, non-proliferation, disarmament, arms control, and ballistic missile defence. She is the author, co-author, and editor of nine books and four monographs, and has published around 130 papers in books and leading academic journals. Her book 'Nuclear Strategy: India’s March towards Credible Deterrence' (2009) is widely regarded as essential reading at academic and armed forces institutions. A recipient of the K. Subrahmanyam Award (2014), she has also received commendations from the Chief of the Air Staff (2020) and the Commander-in-Chief, Strategic Forces Command (2022). She has contributed to national and international policy forums, including the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), and has served on the Board of Directors of APLN. She currently serves on the Board of the Missile Dialogue Initiative of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), is Co-chair of Women in Nuclear–India, and is a member of the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
