Organisation for Research on China and Asia (ORCA) is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on “Myanmar’s New Administration and the India-China Equation”, featuring Dr. Shrabana Barua, Dr. Hunter Marston, Ms. Ophelia Yumlembam and moderated by Mr. Rahul Karan Reddy.

The webinar discussion will be grounded in the need to move beyond descriptive accounts of China’s influence and instead will critically examine the possibilities and limits of foreign policy change in Myanmar. By linking domestic political developments with external strategic dynamics, the discussion will seek to assess whether the new administration presents a genuine inflection point or a continuation of established patterns of engagement. It will further question the underlying assumptions that China’s influence in Myanmar is expanding, while India’s role is diminishing.
