SOCIAL MEDIA CHATTER
Crypto Market Plunge Sparks Debates on Social Media: On November 3, the cryptocurrency market suffered a sharp downturn, with Bitcoin briefly falling below $107,000 and declining over 3% by day’s end. Ethereum’s intraday drop widened to 4%, dipping under $3,700. Notable altcoins, including BNB, Dogecoin and Cardano, fell more than 5%. According to CoinGlass data, nearly 180,000 traders faced liquidation within 24 hours, totaling $482 million in forced liquidations of $430 million from long positions and $55.9 million from short positions. Market analysts link the sell-off to a cautious U.S. Federal Reserve stance on rate cuts, boosting the dollar and dampening risk appetite globally. People expressed distress while others questioned if the fall qualified as a flash crash. Meanwhile, some netizens highlighted government attempts to use cryptocurrency in debt offset strategies. This burst of social media activity underscores the turbulent sentiment amidst an unstable crypto environment.
INDIA WATCH
Chinese Media Discusses India’s Recent Achievements in Space Sector: Chinese media highlights India’s recent test of its most powerful domestically produced rocket, the LVM3, marking a milestone ahead of its manned space missions. The rocket successfully launched the CMS-03 military communication satellite, weighing 4,410 kg, into geosynchronous transfer orbit. The article highlights that CMS-03 satellite will significantly enhance the Indian Navy’s secure multi-band communication coverage across vast oceanic and land regions, vital for strategic command and real-time operational control. It further notes that the launch also validated key upgrades to the LVM3 rocket, including a 10% boost in payload capacity and a successful test of India’s indigenous cryogenic engine, foundational for the upcoming manned mission. The article mentions Indian media reports that claim the milestone as India’s stride toward strategic autonomy in space technology, with ISRO aiming for multiple launches in 2026 and a broader commercial launch program. However, it also notes that India could only complete four launches in 2025 despite aiming to conduct 10 launches. It further argues that India lags behind major space powers in terms of technological advancements despite its cost competitiveness.
