Ute Wallenböck is Assistant Professor of Chinese Studies at Masaryk University, Brno. Trained as a sinologist and Tibetologist, she holds a PhD in Chinese studies from the University of Vienna and a degree in social pedagogy. She is the author of Die Bevölkerung am Sino-Tibetischen Grenzgebiet. Identitätskonstruktion der Tibet-Mongolen (The Population along the Sino-Tibetan Borderland: Identity Construction of the Tibet-Mongols) (2019) and co-editor of The Daur at the Sino-Russian Borderlands (2021). She also contributed to the ORCAxISDP Special Issue "The Dalai Lama's Succession: Strategic Realities of the Tibet Question."
